Launching in 2001, 2018 marks the 17th annual Cornwall Film Festival. The festival will primarily take place in Falmouth playing a vast selection of films, hosting masterclasses, and featuring special guest Q&As.
A worldwide catalogue of films will be playing over the festival. Firstly, biographical period drama Colette starring Keira Knightly and Dominic West will be shown which is looking to gather a larger crowd. Further, Mike Leigh will present Peterloo alongside an interview session afterward much like director Jamie Adams who has presented his fully improvised Songbird starring Cobie Smulders that was shot in Falmouth and partially funded by the university. The other big name is Shoplifters which has been opening to rave reviews worldwide. Lastly, a selection of local talent will premiere with short films from across Cornwall plus a smaller competition for those students studying at the local university.
