Easily being the most talked about and highest-grossing film of 2015, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens has earned over two billion in worldwide revenue and is set to make even more with the upcoming DVD release later this week. Set for an April 18th release (UK), we celebrate the return by revisiting Star Wars issued stamps for the Royal Mail.
Designer Malcolm Tween (Digital Progression) was hired by Disney/ Lucasfilm to create twelve Royal Mail stamps to generate hype for the upcoming film. Each stamp is unique boasting characters across all films featuring Boba Fett, C3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Princess Leia, R2-D2, a Stormtrooper and Yoda plus Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, John Boyega’s Finn and Daisy Ridley’s Rey from The Force Awakens.
The set of very stylish stamps are all available from the Royal Mail website and from 8,000 Post Office branches across the UK. Since they are all first class, your envelopes should arrive at their destination at hyperspeed (sorry!).
